Dr Maureen Glackin, General Secretary, Catholic Independent Schools' Conference visits our school

Special Visitor on Wednesday 27th March 2019 - Dr Maureen Glackin, General Secretary, Catholic Independent Schools' Conference

Well, what a glorious day I have had at St Joseph’s.  I visit a lot of schools as part of my job and it is a pleasure and a privilege to have spent time here with the staff and pupils at St Joseph’s.

When you visit a school you don’t see it – you feel it, you experience it through your senses and your spirit.  The ethos and charisma of St Joseph’s is realised through the people that live it, and this is beautifully led and inhabited by Mrs Birtles.

As a result, your teachers are creative and dynamic, supporting and challenging pupils to excellence, as evidenced in your recent inspection report.

Watching the girls out at lunchtime you see a playground full of fun and noise, of happiness and chatter, of friendships forged and developing.

St Joseph’s is a school that is transitioning to ensure that it meets the challenges of 21st century education and nurtures girls who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

This was my first visit to St Joseph’s ….it won’t be my last!
